Laser Cutting Profile Candlesticks

The Epilog Helix Laser Cutter is one of our more advanced pieces of equipment here at Revisions Design Studio.  Acquired about a year and a half ago, this machine has the ability to cut and raster (engrave) several different types of materials from what are called CAD or vector files.

Here's a shot of the laser cutter opened up after carving out a few of our Profile Candlesticks.  One sheet of clear acrylic is able to produce several products at a time making this process extremely efficient in both time and material consumption.

Dirty Handed Designers

At Revisions Design Studio, our designers are not afraid to get their hands dirty! Here we have Janna cleaning porcelain doves and birds while Michele is busy scraping Incandelescent greenware. Normally, the studio crew will take several days off from their computers and prototyping stations to replenish our studio stockpile.

Making Molds...

The Incandelescent is now in full blown production. The process of making all of our production molds is quite tedious. Here you can see the rubber mother mold I created to help make this process just a little bit easier.

New products soon to debut!

I am now only working 3 days a week at my day job so I can have more time to focus on Revisions. Currently I am developing a few new offerings in the area of fashion and accessories...

I would like to ask a question of all of you out there if I may...

What is your one must have fashion item that you feel should be re-styled/bought new every season???

Great Reads...

Hey there! Sorry it's been so long. I have been on quite the ride as of late. Its fantastic none the less. Although most of my effort in the forth quarter of 2008 was dedicated to keeping up with my etsy shop business,
I have made a new years resolution to focus more on making my business more effective as a functioning independent system... I decided to hit up amazon.com to order some good books to get thinking more like a business woman and not just a craftsperson. I just finished reading Michael Gerber's "The E Myth" and absolutely loved it! This would be a great book for anyone out there who owns a small business or ever dreams of owning one. You will definitely find something you can use. Next on my slate is the "World Changing" book... This book is the must read manual for sustainability in the 21st century. Check out their website for more information and lots of really good online articles.
I have a laundry list of task to accomplish today, so I must be off. I will keep you posted on my next book selections!
