Revisions helps celebrate the Persian New Year!

Last year we had several customers tell us that we had a few products that fit perfectly with a yearly ethnic cultural celebration.  The event is called Nowruz and is the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year.

Nowruz, meaning "A New Day", marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in the Iranian calendar.  It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day depending on where it is observed.  The day's traditions include a deep spring cleaning of houses and visiting one another.  Typically the day before Nowruz, houses are given a complete spring cleaning, refreshing things for the new year to come and to receive a multitude of visitors the next day.  During Nowruz, families are expected to pay short visits to relatives and friends.  Gifts are exchanged and both those hosting and those visiting usually provide plenty to eat and drink.
